Late assignments will be accepted under penalty. For complete details, see the Late Submission Policy, below.
All assignments should be submitted in a 9x12 manila envelope with a clasp closure clearly labeled in the upper right front corner with your name and the assignment number. All pages should be labeled by hand in the upper right corner to indicate your name and what part of the assignment they represent. All diskettes submitted should be externally labeled with your full name and the type of formatting (Mac or Windows). Feel free to re-use envelopes and diskettes as appropriate.

Assignments are due by the beginning of class on the indicated due date. You may submit assignments later than this deadline; however, a penalty will be assessed on your grade as a result.
The penalty begins accruing at the beginning of class on the due date, and continues to accrue as more time passes.
If the assignment is submitted by 4:30 PM on the due date, the penalty will be a single step of a letter grade (for instance, an A- would become a B+).
If the assignment is submitted by noon on the day following the due date, the penalty will be two steps of a letter grade (for instance, an A- would become a B).
If the assignment is submitted more than 24 hours after noon on the due date, the penalty will be a full letter grade for each day (or portion of a day) that has transpired since the deadline. Thus, an assignment submitted just a few minutes after noon on the day following the due date will have its grade reduced by a whole letter grade (for instance, an A- would in this case become a B-).
In exceptional circumstances, extensions may be granted to either reduce or eliminate the late penalty on an assignment. To request an extension you must complete and submit the following form before midnight the night before the assignments due date.
I realize this is a complex system, but it does work. It is your responsibility to clarify any ambiguities you perceive in the rules before you need to utilize them.
