The preliminary schedule of events for the CS 35th birthday celebration:

2:00 – 3:00 pm: Kingsbury Hall Tours (Kingsburfy Hall North Lobby)

  • Check-in and tours of the “new” Kingsbury Hall and department facilities

3:00 – 4:15 pm: Welcome session and Alumni Presentations (Kingsbury N101)

  • After a brief review of the department’s transition over the last 35 years, several of our alumni will make short presentations about their entrepreneurial, technological, and/or managerial experiences and advice.

                          Moderator, Ian Grant, Director, UNH Entrepreneur Center

                          Joseph McEachern, ‘96G, Founder and CEO, QACafe.com and CloudShark:  5 Thoughts on Being an Entrepreneur"    

                          Thomas Hazel, ’95, Founder and CTO, Deep Information Sciences, Inc:  “Reimagined Computer Science”

              Henry Moreton, ’79, ‘83G, Senior Distinguished Engineer, NVIDIA:  “The Evolution of the Graphics Processor, From Video Games to Neural Networks”

                          Sherie Schaefer, ’87, Morgan Stanley, COO Field and Client Technology:  “Technology—What got us here won’t get us there”

 

4:30 – 6:00 pm: Networking, informal recruiting, IOL tours 21 Madbury Road, Durham, NH

  • The UNH InterOperability Laboratory (http://iol.unh.edu) tests networking and data communication products and is a tremendous resource for our students and for the department. Since 1988, the IOL has grown steadily into one of the industry’s premier independent proving grounds for new technologies.

6:00 – 7:00 pm: Cocktails and Hors d’Oeuvres (Huddleston Ballroom)

7:00 – 9:00 pm: Dinner and Reminiscences (Huddleston Ballroom)
